Responsible gambling

Over time, gambling costs money. No strategy, filter or bonus will alter the house edge, which is not a warning but the maths funding the whole operation. All of the following comes from that.
Decide before you start
Your acceptable loss amount should be set before the first deposit, not after you start chasing losses. A limit set while chasing tends to fail, whereas a calmly chosen one holds firm. Your spend here is better thought of as an entertainment expense than as money that should return to you.
The tools in your account
- Deposit limit — a daily, weekly or monthly ceiling on what you can pay in.
- Loss limit — a cap placed on total net losses for a set period.
- Session reminder — a notice tracking how long you have been at it.
- Time-out — blocks account access for a length of time you pick.
- Self-exclusion — ends account access for an extended stretch of time.
A limit that is lowered starts working straight away. Speeding up a limit increase is deliberately avoided, so nobody can wipe it out at the single moment that counts most.
Warning signs
It pays to notice three signs quickly: playing with money intended for something else, trying to win back losses, and understating to other people the real time or money involved. One of these signs on its own is not especially significant. Jointly, the three have meaning.
Where to get help
Independent of us, every one of these organisations operates on its own.
- BeGambleAware — 0808 8020 133 gets you free, confidential help around the clock.
- GamCare — shares the national helpline number, offering treatment and support at no cost.
- Gamban — stops gambling websites loading across all of your devices.
About GamStop. GamStop covers operators licensed in Great Britain, so it may not reach every platform. Regardless of where an operator is licensed, the self-exclusion tool in your own account and device-blocking software still work.
Under-age gambling
We reserve accounts for people who are already adults, 18 and above. Devices shared with others should have parental control software and login details kept secure. An account traced back to a minor is closed, and any winnings are wiped out.
